Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) today announced the promotion of Dr. Matthew Libby to the new position of Site Medical Director of the organization’s Wellfleet Health Center. Dr. Libby joined the Wellfleet center’s provider staff in 2015 where he practices primary care, urgent care, and outpatient addiction treatment. He will report to Andrew Jorgensen, MD, FACP, FAAP—OCHS’ Chief Medical Officer. “Dr. Libby possesses the skill, passion and demeanor to assure that all our Wellfleet patients receive the necessary care when and where they need it, in a manner they can understand, “ according to Dr. Jorgensen. “With OCHS’ Leadership team, Dr. Libby’s appointment represents our commitment to delivering efficient and high quality, patient-centered care as we lead and mentor staff to achieve this shared goal. We look forward to Dr. Libby’s increased participation in organizational initiatives as he continues to blend his clinical duties with leadership activities.” Dr. Libby is board certified in Family Medicine and received a BS in Physics from University of Massachusetts and worked for several years afterward in mathematics and physics education. He later earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England and completed his Family Medicine residency training at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. Dr. Libby has earned several awards over the years for teaching and for service. He is also OCHS’ Director of Medical Education, coordinating student and resident rotations at Outer Cape Health Services for trainees from Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and University of Massachusetts Medical School—where he is also an Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He resides in Brewster with his family.
